"Share Your Server" Guidelines
I love all the sharing you’re doing, I love to see all the creative things you’re doing on our service. I just want to lay down some ground rules for posting here.
- No “Cracked” servers. We do not encourage piracy at GGServers.
- Include your server IP in the post. People need to know how to connect!
- A short blurb about your server is appreciated so people know what they are getting in to.
- Posting servers that are not hosted on GGServers is discouraged.
Here is a sample template you can use:
**Server Name** IP: **127.0.0.1** Server version: **1.11.0** Description: We are a fun loving community built around PvP, with custom arenas for 1v1s and hunger game plugins!
Also; Each month we’ll be sorting through the servers and posting a “Best Of” topic, starting soon. The topic with the most unique comments and upvotes will be featured!
RE: Current Server Outages
I just want to post something that I consider important information.
Right now we have one - yes, one - person who is capable of bringing servers back online. Our CEO. Our datacenter providers are extremely slow when it comes to allowing other people access - I became a full sysadmin abou a few weeks ago and am still waiting for them to give me full access.
Right now, all I can do is wait for them to do that. As much as I would love to snap my fingers and have the servers come back online, it’s a bit difficult when I don’t have fingers (that’s an analogy, I have fingers). Communication tends to be a bit cagey because we’re never really sure how to word what we want to say in a proffesional way. We absolutely discuss things like more social media interaction and giving customers more ways to get in touch. And we absolutely do see everything from those outlets.
Yes, we know you are frusturated. And we would love to give more details on outages and such. We’re working on it, trust us. We don’t intentionally leave customers hanging high and dry.
RE: Customer Service Support
Obviously, yes, we deleted your posts. Why would we want posts saying that we suck on our own forum? And yes, we did read your posts, and we are more than aware our support can take a little while. And also keep in mind the forum team isn’t the same as the support team, which is why we specifically say to not post tickets or PM us with issues. If we did that our system would be a mess.
We take tickets very seriously, and we do everything we can to get through them all. Sometimes we can’t do that - we’ve explained why many times in the past. We are human. We have lives. No support is perfect, unfortunately things take time. Typically we recieve hundreds of tickets per day to varying degrees of urgency and complexity. We’re sorry you, the customer, get frusturated, but there’s not always a clear way to convey what we’re working on. See this.
Hi! Just some general guidelines regarding what should be posted here.
Feel free to ask for help with modpacks, server crashed, plugin issues, etc. This is essentially the all-encapsulating place for troubleshooting your issues.
However it is important to know there are some issues the community cannot help with, such as downed panels, refunds, and so on. Please open a ticket if you have an issue like this.
